CHIWEENIE PUPPIES FOR SALE
Chiweenie cattery, has been active with the Chiweenie puppy breeding and Chiweenie puppies for sale, since around 2009, at which time we owned, and showed our dogs and puppies. My beautiful Sado, was my first love and sadly passed due to an unfortunate auto accident. Some of my bred puppies lived to 17 years of age and were foundation stock to other breeders.
I took some time away from the breed community to raise my children and business, and have since, returned back to my passion, with the commitment and dedication again, to the betterment of the breed, both in health, type and standard, and hopefully the insides will match the beauty of the outside and bring longevity to our Chiweenie dogs and puppies.
ABOUT
The Chiweenie, a mixed-breed dog created by crossing the Chihuahua and Dachshund dog breeds, is compact, energetic, and loyal. These pups inherited some of the best traits from both of their parents. Chiweenies are also known by several names, including Choxie, Weeniehuahua, the German Taco, and the Mexican Hot Dog :). We also have adult Chiweenie puppies available for sale. Some buyers prefer dogs instead.
These adorable pups make great apartment dogs for active urban dwellers. However, they are best suited for small households or a one-person lodge, and they tend to be yappy. If you are looking for an energetic “firecracker” puppy who will keep you on your toes, alert you to any potential dangers, and love you unconditionally, the Chiweenie may be the right one for you i promise!
Grooming Chiweenies
It’s difficult to predict what kind of coat Chiweenie puppies will have as they can be anything from short hair, long hair, wire-hair - or anything in-between depending on the parents.
Talk to the breeder or find a good local groomer who can teach you how to look after your Chiweenie’s coat as it develops and make sure you have the right tools to groom such a small dog.
Nutrition and Feeding
Toy dogs have a fast metabolism, meaning they burn energy at a high rate, although their small stomachs mean that they must eat little and often. Small-breed foods are specifically designed with appropriate levels of key nutrients and smaller kibble sizes to suit smaller mouths. This also encourages chewing and improves digestion.
Your dog's diet needs to have the right balance of all the main nutrient groups including a constant supply of fresh water. It's important to conduct regular body condition scores to ensure you keep your dog in ideal shape and remember to feed them at least twice daily and in accordance with the feeding guidelines of their particular food.
